We are students in Mexico and we have to make a project about how the junk food. We are thinking about junk food like a nutritional supplement affects the health and the knowledge of the older child and teens (between 12 to 15 years old). When we were looking for information we saw your website on the Internet. We think maybe you can help us with information and comments. We expect that you could help us and we will be glad if you answered these questions:
- What is junk food?
- What are the more common kinds of junk food?
- How does the junk food (like a nutritional supplement) affect the health and the knowledge of the old child and the teens?
- What is the relation between a good nutrition and the knowledge?
- What do you think about our project?
Thanks for all. We hope you could answer.
A nutritional supplement can be a vitamin or mineral pill or a beverage like Ensure that is taken by persons who don’t get enough nutrition from the food you eat. I would not lump nutritional supplements with junk food. However in saying that, I realize that persons who want to build up their muscles like weight lifters will take nutritional supplements for which there is no scientific evidence like DHEA. Therefore, tread lightly when it comes to nutritional supplements. Perhaps you should go to your local pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist there about nutritional supplements.
I would be surprised if 12 to 15-year-olds were taking nutritional supplements other than boys who participate in a sport like football or wrestling.
